Director of Development
Stephen J. Maffei, Director of Development at Design Pro Development, brings over 25 years of expansive experience in architectural design and construction management to our team. A graduate of Drexel University with a Bachelor of Architecture, Stephen has honed his expertise through significant roles, including as Project Manager at Zatos Construction, where he led the development of luxury single-family homes and mixed-use buildings across the tri-state area.
Before joining our team, Stephen was the founder and driving force behind Abitare Design Studio LLC in Philadelphia, where he served as President and Principal Designer for 15 years. Under his leadership, the firm specialized in residential design, custom interiors, and urban planning, gaining a reputation for excellence in design-build projects.
Stephen is an associate member of the American Institute of Architects and a member of both the International Code Council and the Building Industry Association of Philadelphia. His broad skill set includes advanced mastery in managing construction documents, overseeing permitting processes, performing cost analyses, and conducting contract negotiations. His background is particularly strong in construction administration, where he has demonstrated proficiency across a diverse portfolio of private and public projects.
As the Director of Development at Design Pro Development, Stephen leverages his extensive design and construction management experience to enhance our project executions and client relations. His deep understanding of zoning requirements, feasibility studies, and master project planning further cements his role as a key contributor to our team’s success. Renowned for his strategic acumen and ability to navigate complex development landscapes, Stephen is poised to play a pivotal role in the continued growth and innovation of our company.
